REMEMBER

PET IDENTIFICATION is important to ensure the safe return of your pet if he/she gets lost. Even if your pet normally stays inside, accidents can happen! Many people put collars on their pets, but fail to put a rabies tag or ID on it. Without any ID, shelters are unable to locate owners and many pets are euthanized annually just because an owner does not come looking for his/her pet and the ACO has no way of finding the owner. Additionally, the City of Olive Branch Animal Control Ordinances require that every pet wear his/her rabies tag at all times. If you cannot keep a collar on your pet, try getting a microchip. Shelters have scanners to check for this implanted computer chip and, thus, locate an owner. Also, keep contact information up-to-date with your Veterinarian and with the microchip manufacturer.
